Be a Sugar Daddy-

Be a Sugar Daddy- Or a Sugar StepDaddy, or a Sugar GrandDaddy...

A little over 20 years ago a group of Daddys from Bruce Shulkey Elementary School got together and vowed to clean up the school — literally!

They showed up at school events and took care of all the trash collection. They were so good at it that they decided to take it a step further. They found that they could hire themselves out for city events, cleaning up here and there and putting the money they earned into projects for their children's school.

Now, as every woman knows, a big group of motivated strong men willing to work on a "honey do list" is a treasure. . . and the Bruce Shulkey Sugar Daddys are just that.

Long after that group was organized they are still going strong, working for Bruce Shulkey and the community in general. If you ever had a child attend Shulkey, that child enjoyed the work of the Sugar Daddys.

Recent projects include a Public Address system and new bulletin boards for the school. Their work spills out the doors of the school into the adjoining park. They worked closely with the Fort Worth City Park Department with the building of a lovely outdoor pavilion. The bricks were donated by people who wanted to show affection for Bruce Shulkey School. Next time you're in the area, take a moment to read the
inscriptions on the bricks.

If you've been associated with the school in the past, you'll see many familiar tributes to favorite teachers,
students, and others.

The Daddys have plans to put in barbecue pits in that area and also make the nearby tennis courts accessible to everyone according to the Americans with Disabilities Act. They truly are Wedgwood Square treasures—they don't just talk the talk, they walk the walk.

If you have a child at Shulkey, please consider joining the Daddys — you'll make a significant contribution to your child's education. Even if you don't have a child in school, the Daddys would love to have
you join them anyway.

To join their group, or for more information, please call Hansel Thornton, President of the Sugar Daddys at 817-239-6951, or e-mail him at hansel@alphaoiltools.com.

WSNA sends a BIG thanks to the Bruce Shulkey Sugar Daddies.
